Two weeks spent exploring the slickrock benches and verdant canyons of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument

After wading upstream through Coyote Creek, we waited out the sun until our climb back up the sand hill was in the shade. Of course, at this time of year the sun sets rapidly in the desert, and it was dark by the time we made it back to the car.  This hike across country would have been alot sketchier if Stephen hadn't brought his GPS.
