Although it wasn't the hottest day we hiked in Escalante, nobody wanted to miss out on the chance for a real dip in the numerous deep pools formed by Willow Creek.

As we walked back up Willow Gulch from Broken Bow Arch these young owl siblings were waiting in a tree just above the trail for their mom to return from a hunting trip.  They both gave us nervous, wide-eyed looks as we passed directly beneath them only an arms-reach away, but they followed mom's instructions exactly and stayed put!
